Any good design bust involve even better art; design is a synthesis of art and engineering in order to create a functional product that is logically satisfying the functional need as well as emotionally satisfying the emotional needs such as aesthetics. The difference between art and industrial design is thus first the function; i.e. an art does not necessary need to satisfy a logical need, furthermore art is usually unique and not mass produced, but an industrial design must always be mass produced, because industrial design is for the masses, art is individual.
