With the invention of new technologies, you get new materials and production technologies as well as services and supply chain innovations presenting new opportunities for form and function, and because some technologies may become obsolete this may also change what can be produced or provided at a given time, therefore changing what can be realized, not necessarily designed; but because the aim of design is industrial production and supply, this effects what can be feasibly designed. As technology progresses, design must adapt to new possibilities and constraints, using innovation to stay relevant and effective.
