You should take your time to explain and talk about your design as the primary source, who knows everything about the design. You should be able to explain your design, and you should be able to defend your design (in an open-minded, logical manner, not in a dogmatic or religious way) and the decisions that lead to design. Indeed if you are not able to defend or explain your design, you should work on it further. That being said, if you are unable to talk about your design, if you are unable to defend it, other people will interpret your design their way; and not all such ways would be pleasant or to your benefit; you must be the first voice regarding your designs and creations, you should defend your baby; your should defend your design, and to do so, you should be able to know and talk about your baby, you should be able to explain your design.
