Onur Cobanli explains:
Design is about tasteful balance of ideas, theories and concepts that when together make sense, here tasteful and balance is important keywords, as social design must be tasteful and made in a way that is balanced, in a delightful way, without going to extremes in any viewpoint. Good social design is about really good education, good healthcare, good social constructs and laws that allow freedom of expression and speech, good social design is about empowering citizens, helping them discover their place, without forcing them into place, good social design is all about good design applied to society, good social design is inclusive but it is also highly meritocratic. When there is good social design, people are happy. When there is not good social design, people lose the primary values that make themselves successful as species; the ability cooperate, collaborate and co-live in order to create products, projects, systems and experiences that no single individual could not dream of let alone bring into realisation. When there is no good social design, you fall to the bottom of the hierarchy of needs; people go to basic; instead of satisfying their full potential, self-actualisation, creativity, instead of having a feeling of accomplishment and belongingness, people would instead strive for safety, security and physical products or items that might provide them the power as a substitute for social constructs, therefore craving material designs and consumables rather that relationships, love or self-fulfilment.
