Let's explore why these items are highly relevant. First of all, the primary keystone is most likely science; it is knowing what can be, such as a command over materials or tools, let these be digital or physical alike, then there is observation; because more often designers do not design the products, experiences or services for themselves but for a larger population. Third is curiosity which glues together iteration, science and observation; it is about exploration and thinking of or trying different combinations and allows us to find new solutions that had not been explored before. Finally iteration is what makes good design great design; iteration helps us refine and improve our designs.
