Onur Cobanli explains:
This is simple, here I mean that great designs are category defining products, projects, services and experiences that are so good so great that everyone demands these; and good designs are follow-up products that imitate the great design; these maybe even better than the original in terms of specs or outcome but they are simply not the original; they are what follows; and there is no shame being a follower; for me good design must be market friendly; and it should satisfy consumer and customer needs in a good way; if customers demand a great design which had set an example and defined a new type of product, project or service, it is only natural that you would create variants with an hope to create a product, project or service that is even superior than the original; this is indeed how human progress, innovation and technology works; in most cases, it makes sense to build-upon; and good design is what comes when we build-upon great designs.
