Onur Cobanli explains:
The problem with bad design is rarely its looks, in most cases bad design has a serious problem, that psycho can kill you, if not hurt you very much, or it could bankrupt you. Why do I call bad design a psycho? The idea is that bad design is incomplete; it lacks character and it lacks autocontrol and balance. For businesses, bad design will reduce customer loyalty, create negative feedback and reduce customer retention; this is dangerous. For business, bad design products can really hurt people or environment that would cost a lot of pain and damages, which you might be forced to compensate for; again, dangerous and plain harmful. For people, bad design can hurt people; hurt children; it is very dangerous and hazardous. Bad design is almost always ugly and dangerous, it is a disease that you should avoid at all cost. Bad design exists in enterprises because companies and entities cheap-out and work with non-designers or try to design their products themselves, and bad design exists in governments because untalented people are given right to make decisions and calls, because of nepotism. Despicable decisions give birth to bad design, which in turn goes around and hurts people and the environment. Design needs proper investment, and should be done by people who think like designers, even if they are not designers.
