Exposure is what really matters, there are always those that will find even your rough designs valuable, you need to reach your audience. It sure is never a good idea to advertise your bad design, but it is absolutely worst idea not to advertise anything because you think none of your designs are good; you must start somewhere, because even the worst awards would provide a bit of exposure; sure it is best to join good awards with great designs, that’s how you should roll; that's the best case, but you have to start rolling with whatever you have, right now.
