Fame, prestige and publicity are safeguards of good design.

Visibility can help protect your work from theft or copying. While no foolproof safeguard exists to stop design theft, being well-known makes it harder for others to steal designs without repercussions. Fame, prestige, and publicity therefore provide a level of protection for your creations; recognition and visibility can offer a form of protection for a designer’s work. When designs become well-known, and their creators respected within the industry, it becomes challenging for others to steal or copy their work without facing significant backlash or legal consequences. This level of public awareness acts as a shield for creative properties. This is also one of the many value proposition of good awards such as the highly prestigious A' Design Award which are designed to create publicity for the award-winning good designs, to help create a global awareness and publicity for good design, this design promotion not only motivates designers to create superior products and projects that benefit and advance society but also reinforces the design's position in the market, giving it a sort of visibility shield.
