To be a great designer, start by designing yourself.

Introspection and self-design is what I am talking about; look at yourself, listen to yourself, and think about what you thinking about and why you thinking about; then think about what you want to be, and then think of what you need to do to become what you wanted to be and then finally take the necessary steps to become what you wanted to be. If you want to be a great designer, start designing yourself; for me a great designer must have a lot of experience and knowhow, for I think inspiration and creativity comes easier when you are ready to embrace it; so, I study and I practice, with or without clients, I create designs all the time. Then you need to make some trade-offs, you need to decide what is most important to you, you must have a future vision of yourself even if abstract level, and then take action.
