Olivier Felix Isselinasobanura: Void is not absence. It is full of space means that emptiness should not be confused with lack. In design, there is often a tendency to fill: surfaces, volumes, walls, intervals. Yet space is not what remains when everything else has been placed. It is part of the composition itself. It creates distance, rhythm, proportion, light and perspective. It gives presence to what surrounds it. A space left empty can therefore be as deliberate as an object, a wall or a material. It is not unfinished. It has a function. The idea is not to praise emptiness for its own sake, nor to turn minimalism into a rule. It is simply to recognise that sometimes, by removing, separating or leaving untouched, space becomes more present.
