Great design truly requires great understanding of; science, technology, market, clients and consumers; science is important as it allows you to have a framework, technology provides you with realization opportunities and imposes design restrictions which you can use to your advantage, observing market is highly relevant for coming up with designs that will be successful, observing clients and listening to consumers help you iterate and improve your design; great design requires great understanding of everything that relates to your industry; you need to be a polymath to be a great designer, you need to read a lot, know a lot, learn a lot, reflect a lot, and iterate a lot, you need to understand that you need to understand more.
