This adage reflects my belief that objects are not isolated entities, but active participants in the environment they inhabit. When we place an object in a room, we are not just adding a functional tool; we are altering the energy and the visual narrative of that space. I see space as a canvas of possibilities, and the object as the brushstroke that gives it meaning. If an object only fulfills a function, it is merely "occupying" space. But if it carries an emotional weight, a fluid form, or a sculptural presence, it begins to "redefine" that space. It creates shadows, it directs the eye, and it dictates the rhythm of the room. This perspective forces the designer to think beyond the physical limits of the material and consider the invisible atmosphere that the object creates. Design is an act of communication between matter and void. By focusing on how a piece redefines silence, I aim to create works that invite contemplation.
